Princess cake

I have to brag a little about my creative and talented little sister, however, in an area other than sewing, namely baking. She has made this fabulous princess cake to celebrate the wedding of Crownprincess Victoria of Sweden and Daniel, which took place last saturday. And by the way, it tasted as good as it looks.

2 year old star

Our Lilja turns 2 tomorrow so I have sewn a new harness for her.
I used an old pair of jeans, black woven nylon strap with reflective stitching and a star to dot the "i"
Hope she likes it!

Here is the first prototype that I made, with fleece. It works well and doesn´t come off no matter what.

And a matching collar.

I used both foundation and paper piecing on this block. The Church window block has 37 pieces.

In the garden

Apple flower buds

Peony bud and a busy ant

Plum blossom and blue sky

and in a year it will look like this...

K-2

BOW is finished! Grandpa´s chickens has 40 pieces and it´s paper pieced.

I-9

This block (Chase A Myth) is paper pieced in three sections. I redrew the pattern because I wanted 90 degree angles on the large triangles. The block has 41 pieces.

A-5

Okay, new attempt! (Cathie´s Campfire) 29 pieces. Pedantic as I am I think paper piecing will work fine for me. Lines, angles and corners become fine and precise.

C-1

Did my very first paper pieced block yesterday. Took an easy one and tought it would be a piece of cake, and yes, it was, but something went wrong......Can you find "the error" ? (Trooper Green´s Badge) 13 pieces.

M-1

Yes, this is fun! My third block, M-1 (Dogwood Days) was a little bit tricky and I did some changes (from the book) so that I would get the corners to fit the central block. Machine pieced, 29 pieces.

Have a nice day!

C-12

Look what I´ve had time to sew before breakfast! C-12 (Family Reunion) Machine pieced. 49 pieces. I´m really pleased with it :)

B-10

It´s done! My first Dear Jane block. I loved piecing it. My B-10 (Jud´s Trophy) has 27 pieces because I did the centerpiece in one instead of three. Now there is just 224 more to go... I´m not sure I´m going to use these  blocks for my "baby jane". I haven´t yet decided what color I want. If I can´t decide, I will go for the original colors. Time will tell.

Happy Easter

What a dull gray weather, the rain just pouring down. The snow is melting faster of course in the rain so we may try to put up with this wet weather for some time. Really soon, we have wonderful spring here.
With last year's Easter cake made by my sister Amanda, I wish you a very pleasant Easter.
The recipe can be found at Kinuskikissa. Here you will find the cake decorations. The recipe is unfortunately only in Finnish. Here you can try to translate it into the language you want.

HER & HIS

T.ex. pennor, make-up, pengar, mobiltelefon mm
They are easy and fun to make and above all very practical for different things. You can vary the size according to what you need to store in them. Eg pens, makeup, money, mobile phone etc.
Gifts for loved ones. Hopefully, they are in use, and they fulfill their function.

Windmill puzzle

Väderkvarnar ur Miranda Innes LAPPTÄCKESBOKEN
Windmills from Miranda Innes Traditional Quilts around the world
Here are the puzzle pieces needed for this windmill puzzle....
Jag har använt bomulls- och linnetyger
I have used cotton and linen fabrics
It's fun to make different patterns, but difficult to decide which one to choose
Pusslar.....Puzzling....
...och pusslar.....and puzzling....
...och pusslar.....and puzzling....
...och pusslar.....and puzzling....

This is how it will probably look like finished. I have not yet decided whether it will be a runner, square table cloth or wall hanging
